HELP KEEP THE DIRECTORY USEFUL

Contribution rules

Share clear, accurate location information for a structure intended for public use.

What belongs in a listing

  • A blessing box, little library, or a single structure serving both purposes.
  • A short descriptive name, a confirmed map pin, and an address or useful landmark.
  • Notes that help someone find the structure or understand access restrictions.
  • The reported status of the structure, updated to the best of your knowledge.

Separate adjacent structures may have separate listings. Check nearby suggestions before adding a new one. A duplicate warning is a chance to review, rather than a rule against two structures standing close together.

Respect privacy and the place

List only structures intended for public use. Do not expose an unrelated private household, publish anyone’s personal contact details, or identify people receiving food, books, or assistance.

Keep notes factual and courteous. Do not add advertisements, requests for donations, private information, reviews, or comments about other contributors. Share your own observations; do not copy another organization’s directory.

Make thoughtful edits

Any active member with a verified email can edit any public listing. The original contributor does not own the record. Explain what you changed so an administrator can understand the edit if needed.

Your public username and the date and time of your edit appear on the listing. A real change updates that attribution. Saving unchanged information does not.

Keep status about the structure

Use the status to describe whether the structure exists and is accessible. Do not use it to describe whether a box is stocked, a book is available, food is safe, or a location is officially approved.

When something goes wrong

Use the private report form for a wrong position, duplicate, missing structure, inappropriate content, or privacy concern. Administrators can correct or revert changes, hide or lock records, and suspend abusive accounts.

Community listings remain available when a contributor deletes their account, with the public attribution changed to “Deleted contributor.” Privacy concerns can be reviewed separately.
